Newsletter – October 2015

COMMANDER Al Norton

I am pleased to say our Post is doing well at this time.  This has been accomplished by Great efforts from the Legionnaires, Auxiliary and the Sons of the American Legion.  We are a great family!

I want to take this opportunity to thank Jack Hodges for his continued support of our Post.  It seems like every time we discuss that we need something, miraculously it appears, Thank You Jack!

Our 911 Vigil and Dinner for 1st responders went very well.  Thank you all for your support.  Especially Thank you 1st responders for being here when we need you!

The golf tournament was a lot of fun.  I hurt like crazy when it was done, but well worth it.  Linda Nenno, you’re great, another outstanding performance.  Don’t forget Gene Hill is the best Brisket smoker in the county!

National has raised Legionnaires dues by $5.00 effective January 1 2016.  If you pay 2016 dues before January 1 it will still be $35.00.

SID, the alcohol police has visited us twice recently.  They can drop in anytime they please.  It is the law that everyone enters any establishment that sells alcohol have valid picture ID.  It is also a requirement everyone entering our Post must have a current membership card or be signed in. If you forget your card at home have someone sign you in as a guest.  I realize it can be a pain but we do not want to get into trouble.

We are still the most fun club in the state!

God Bless us all & God Bless America!

Charity & Education:

Charity donations to our community generated by our gaming revenue for September was $2,582.87.  If you are aware of non-profit organizations or youth programs that could use some financial help, contact Linda Amdal, Gaming Manager.
Also, Aries Gaming, the company we lease our gaming machines from, has generously offered to sponsor a “Lucky Diamond” shindig during our Halloween  Party.  Each attendee will receive one raffle ticket for a chance to win one of the great prizes provided by Aries Gaming.  (One prize per person.)  This promotion is not related to the Gaming Room and the raffle is open to all members and their guests.
