S.A.L. Supported Programs

This past year the S.A.L. members not only volunteered over 200 hours, but they also donated over $2000 to various national, state and local charities with the bulk of the money going to local charities here in Sierra County.

National organization’s and activities include but are not limited to:

  • American Legion Child Welfare Foundation
  • Children And Youth

State organizations and activities include but are not limited to:

  • American Legion State Convention
  • Wounded Soldier Programs
  • New Mexico State Veteran’s Home

Local organizations and activities include but are not limited to:

  • New Mexico State Veteran’s Home
  • Sierra County Cancer Fund
  • Sierra Santa (sponsored by Lions International)
  • Memorial Day Services (color guard, putting flags on the graves of veteran’s etc.)

Local post activities (e.g. American Legion Family Night Out, American Legion Auxiliary flea market, sale of American flags)
Local community events (e.g. Fiesta, Elephants Day Parade, Christmas Luminaria Walk,)

Monthly meetings are held at Post 44 on the Third Tuesday of the Month at 6:30 p.m.
