Post Commander – Tom Cleveland
Amazing how time flies! May has come and gone and as usual it was a busy one at Post 44. Highlights for the month were a successful Mother’s Day Dinner provided by a great group of volunteers and a busy Memorial Day weekend with flag placement at the local cemeteries, Memorial Day services, and the laying of the wreath on the river. Many thanks to all who participated.

This is my last month as your Post Commander. It has been a wonderful experience for me to fill such an important position at Post 44. I only hope that under my guidance, and with the support I received from a super Officer Team, I was able to leave you with a thriving, active Post that is in sound financial shape. I thank you for the trust you placed in me when you elected me one year ago.

Installation of the 2023-2024 officers will take place at the next General Membership meeting on Saturday, June 17 at 10:30am. The new slate of officers will assume their duties on July 1. I would hope that you will give them all the support you gave me. Once again, thank you. It has been both an honor and a privilege to serve you as your Commander!

Remember to continue to support our mission to provide veterans, their families, and our community with all the help they need.

Post Commander – Tom Cleveland
Spring is here and so are the winds! April is Legion Officer Election month. Our Nomination Committee has done an excellent job of assembling a full slate of candidates to fill the Post’s offices. Voting will take place at the April 15th General Meeting. Please try to attend.

March has come and gone and it turned out to be one of the most successful months at Post 44. So many activities and events were held and attended by you our members and your guests. Let’s keep it up!!

Dinners and the Friday Grill are big contributors to that success. People have finally begun to get out and enjoy life as per pre-Covid.

Sorry for the inconvenience you have experienced with the ATM. It just finally gave up the ghost. A new one was purchased and is now operational.

I personally want to thank our office staff, bartenders, kitchen
workers and the many volunteers who provide you with their services. Without them, we couldn’t continue to be a successful Post. An extra thanks to Ernesto Martinez for stepping up to clean the smoke eaters. I have had many compliments from visiting Legionnaires about how friendly, professional, and clean our Post is. THANKS to ALL!

Enough chatter from me!! Remember to support our mission to provide veterans, their families, and our community with all the help they need. Looking forward to seeing you at the Post!
