COMMANDER Al Norton

Tis the season to be Jolly. I want to wish everyone a Happy Holiday!

Those of you traveling have a wonderful time with whatever adventure you are engaging in, but most of all be careful and return home safe and sound.

Members and friends staying in town, join us at the Post for our planned activities or just come by, relax and chat with a friend.

See you next year and again be safe and Happy Holidays!

Finance Officer– Bill Conklin

Like to start of wishing everyone a great Holiday season, hope all your wishes come to you. OCTOBER ended up with a $3000.00 loss. This was due to gaming being down and bar revenue was also down. Good thing kitchen was up, so bringing dinners back was a good thing. Year to date we are still in the black for about $3500.00. We are hoping for a good month of December, with the time of cheer. The staff is watching everything to cut costs. Hope to see you at the meeting, we need your input and suggestions to better the post. I’ll see you all around the post.

Activities Committee – Kathy Norton and Linda Amdal

‘Tis!  the Season!!  When you see Bob & Liz Nellis, please give them a big Thank You for purchasing our new “American Legion Family” banner!!  It will be flying high at the Luminaria and it’s a great way to promote our Post!

Thanks to all of you that selected a gift tag off our Angel Tree!  We will have a gift wrapping party on Thursday, December 11th at noon.
We still need helpers to distribute sloppy joe’s at the Luminaria.  There is a sign up sheet on the white board by the ATM machine.
Certain items are still needed for our Christmas Dinner Boxes.  Check with Linde or Kathy to see what else is needed.  Thanks to all that have donated so far.

Congrat’s to Bob Acre as our volunteer of the Quarter!  Bob has helped the Post in so many ways!  He’s done wiring, bolting, door buttons and donated a month of karaoke, plus coordinating the pool tournaments.  Thank you, Bob, for all you do for us!!

Mark your calendars for our Post & Employee Christmas Party, Saturday, Dec. 20th.  We will have a Pot Luck and Cactus Flats will play from 6 – 10.  We’re hoping Santa will be here to help us celebrate!!

Christmas Eve we will have finger foods at 5:00 and Bob Acre will provide Christmas music for us.
Saturday, Dec. 27th we will try to win back the Elephant Trophy at the Lucero Challenge @ VFW 1389.  Players need to sign up by 1:30.

Jim Corrons will help us bring in the New Year for our “New York New Years Eve” Party.  Jim will play from 7:00 – 10:00.  A Pot Luck starts at 5:00.
On New Year’s Day there will be a Pot Luck Brunch from 1 – 4 with a Bloody Mary Special.

Please see the calendar for meals and other events.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to All!!
