COMMANDER Roy Lucero – Commander & Newsletter Editor

All of a sudden it’s September.  School is back in session and youngsters will be out and about.  Be alert stay safe.

Just a reminder; if you want to get in on the “Early Bird” drawing, your 2014 dues must be paid by the end of this month.  If you’ve paid your dues but haven’t  received  your 2014 card, it can be picked up from the bartender.  Our Post 44 Family is planning an entry in the Elephant Days Parade.      Come on out, watch the parade, take part in the other activities, and show your support for the community.

The 2nd Annual Post Golf  Scramble is on Saturday the 21st.  Come join the festivities afterwards.  Lunch will probably be ready around 1 or 2 p.m.

This month’s General Membership Meeting will be Saturday, September 28 at 10:30 am.

Once again, Thank you for all that you do.  See you at the Post.

I’m back! What a wonderful two months of travel and relaxation I had. Visited family and friends in the Midwest and spent time in beautiful Colorado with a very special gal!  Already for my next vacation, but also glad to be back in EB with my many friends . Hope to see you soon at the Post.

Don’t forget Elephant Days, week end of September ,6th, 7th, and 8th

August is over and we begin to look forward to a great fall . It won’t be long before our winter visitors will be returning to EB.  The Activities Committee has scheduled some new and exciting fun filled events and activities.

Deja- vue all over again, just last September we had a change in the kitchen operation. Now it is taking place again, Elaine is leaving the kitchen due to health issues. I want to thank her for all she has brought to the Post and the kitchen operations. Don’t be a stranger, hope you will continue to attend our events. If you see Elaine out and about be sure to thank her for her services.

Remember the Post relies on you and your guests to survive and thrive. Come out and support it with your attendance at events and activities

Finance Officer Dr. G. Vincent Barrett

The financial condition of the Post continues to remain sound. The month of July was a solid month with the bar and kitchen holding their own while pull tabs and gaming had a very strong showing. All up we turned a small profit which is good for the July time period. All indicators are that we are looking at a financially reasonably summer with no major financial problems even though we did have to replace an air conditioning unit. Our overall capital position is solid and we are meeting all financial obligations on time. See you at the Post

Adjutant – Bob Nellis     We currently have 168 members paid for 2014.  If you have paid and not received your new care, it can be picked up from the bartender.

At the end of this month, the early bird membership will end.  At the October meeting we will draw to see which lucky early bird member will have their dues refunded.  Thanks to everyone who renewed early
